Our first limited release batch is a Belgian Style Tripel brewed with Asiatic crystalized ginger and aged on fresh ginger root grown in Wisconsin. Sweet earthy ginger aroma wraps itself inside the Belgian yeast profile. Dangerously smooth and very drinkable.

This pours a fairly light golden color. The head was fairly thick, but not overly so. The nose has hints of orange, to me. It also seems to have other fruit notes as well, probably the ginger. The taste is fairly light at first. There's some citrus favor. It must be the ginger (though I'm a Mary Ann). It doesn't taste like a 9% beer, it is fairly easy drinking, and enjoyable. Fairy full body feel. Delicious.

Poured in late March, 2016 into a tulip glass. Radiant dark golden color with a fluffy but quickly dissipating head. Belgian yeast and some fruity esters from the brew are very apparent in first whiff. Ginger shows up more on the taste, leaving a slight tingle on the palette. Malting is done well, but rather unremarkably. Considering the deft touch a quality trippel requires, I'm impressed. It would be interesting to see them keep the base beer and riff on a different adjunct each year - maybe something else tart or spicy like sour cherries, lime, or good Wisconsin horseradish.
