Dare Mighty Things IPA-Cryo- Single Hop-Citra (Is that what it's called?). New England IPA. 6.4% ABV. The Brewing Project, Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Highly hazed, bright orange, thick perfect ivory head.
In the nose: Big blast of bitterness, at first, then along comes the citrus. Brash and bold orange, grapefruit, lemon, a little bit floral, too. Traces of tropical towards the end.
In the mouth: Hop bitterness jump in and mellows out. So smooth. Smooth, fruity, while strong and fierce. Quite a juicy one, too. Medium bodied, fully flavored. Tasty and delicious and all that. A nice iteration of this style, even if I remain nonplussed by the trend.
I can't find anything further on this one, anywhere, and I've looked. There's a quote from Teddy Roosevelt on the can, but it tells us nothing about the beer. Oh, well, 'tis what 'tis.

Hazy gold poured at 56 degrees; two fingers of mixed white bubbles/foam; very long cap retention; heavy minus lacing. Lemon followed by subtle grapefruit and pineapple; some dank notes as it warms. Very light bitter lemon, grapefruit; semi sweet malt foundation; pineapple, mango, melon, over ripe peaches, black pepper. Juicy fluffy feel; full body; moderate carbonation; the slightest hop burn on tip of the tongue. Overall very enjoyable; not too sweet, not too filling and very little astringency; I would drink again.

I received this from @vidblain in a BIF box. Poured from undated can into Spiegelau IPA glass. It pours a murky, turbid tangerine with brownish hues, and two fingers of fluffy, bright white head and a thick coating of creamy lacing. Although the listed style is American IPA it has a classic NE IPA look to it. Its aromatic nose features lemon peel, tangerine, mango, fresh honeydew melon, a whiff of vanilla, and light floral hops. This is delicious! Overripe melon, mango, and light citrus. There is a dose of lactose/vanilla that provides both sweetness and creaminess. The blend of Citra and Cryo hops is highly flavorful but not overly bitter. It finishes with a slight bitterness and pepper but is balanced by the sweet fruit. This ale has a pleasing, creamy mouth feel with moderate carbonation, and at 6.4% ABV and relatively low IBU, you'll want a second pour. Overall, this ale deserves its "Outstanding" rating. It has a great balance of sweetness and hops and the mouth feel is first rate.
