Previously a "retired" beer, this has resurfaced at 7.1%. Pours deep dark brown with a thick mocha head that leaves generous lacing. Aroma is maple syrup forward, picking up a hint of cinnamon on top of roasted malt. Flavor follows the nose with plenty of maple syrup, cinnamon and vanilla in the finish. Sweet but not cloying. Feel is medium bodied and lightly carbonated. Overall, a very nice pastry stout that isn't overly sweet.

I tried a can of this beer at my line mate's place in St. Germain, Wisconsin whilst there for the Eagle River Pond Hockey Tournament. It poured an opaque dark with tan head that did not leave any lace. The scent had nice chocolate, maple, vanilla and cinnamon notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet maple malt with good cocoa, vanilla and cinnamon presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with subtle carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Deep dark pour. Cinnamon and vanilla aromas prevail. The taste is muted, watered down breakfast flavors and thin bodied for a stout. Okay beer, but definitely not one of the better ones seeking this particular flavor profile.

Sampled in December 2021. Listed as 6.9% ABV.
Pours dark brown, with a thin head and moderate carbonation. Aroma is largely vanilla with only the slightest hint of maple. Taste is predominantly vanilla and cinnamon lingers behind, though any maple profile is distinctly lacking. The beer is thin for an imperial stout.

Brewing Projekt What The French!? French Toast Imperial Stout, 8.8% ABV. Pours thick and black with a 3.5 finger tan head that left great foamy lacing. Nose is an incredible impression of french toast with sweet and strong maple, vanilla, and cinnamon. Taste is slightly sweet maple, cinnamon, and vanilla with a light bitter close. Aftertaste is french toast. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding. Could have been world class if taste matched the smell. Not 100% sure on the ABV, it was poorly labeled. Others say 9.5 or 6.5. Nearly a pastry stout, though not sweet enough.

Thanks to Jeff for this one.
16oz. can into a Brooklyn Brewery snifter.
Nice looking beer. Thick, rich, and with a dense head. This one actually smells like French Toast mixed with Andes chocolate mints, roasted malt, fudge, cinnamon and maple syrup. Very aromatic and true to the beer name. Beer opens chocolate, roasted malt, brownie, and molasses up front. Big heaping loads of syrup in the middle with a touch of chewiness and biscuit. Coca cola at the end with more chocolate, fudge, cinnamon, and syrup in the aftertaste. This one tastes exactly as you'd expect from the name. Body is medium to full with low carbonation. Slick on the palate and goes down soft, almost silky. Lingering, slightly sticky aftertaste. Really drinkable for the ABVs.
I'm a pretty big fan of this. I enjoy those beers that remind me of childhood foods.

Pardon my French, mais, qoi? Oh, French toast? Back when I made beer at home the stout experiments were always the most successful. I attributed it to making them big and malty and that covering up my mistakes. This one reminds me of one of those creations.
It pours stout black with nice fizz that continues. The aroma is of maple on top of a stout. The taste goes sweet milk stout with some maple and other spice thrown in. It all feels slightly thinner than expected.
Recommended. It is over priced.

L: This might be power of suggestion but the full, well-laced head was a very nice french toast color with the body being completely opaque, black like maple syrup
S: The smell is completely overpowered by the maple syrup, which in this case is not a bad thing.
T: French toast. This tastes exactly like the first bite of french toast that your mom made you on a Sunday morning. The maple syrup is prominent but not all encompassing as the notes of cinnamon and vanilla come through. Delicious.
F: Pretty standard mouth feel for an imperial stout. Nothing bad, but nothing unique.
O: This is a pleasant dessert beer. Could not drink a ton of it but the single pint can I poured from was perfect for an after dinner sweet.
