Brewing Projekt Puff Tart XL Raspberry/Guava/Pineapple/Vanilla Fruit Sour, 7.91% ABV. Pours gloppy thick and opaque medium red, with a two-finger pink head that left tons of puree residue. Nose is raspberry, pineapple and vanilla. Flavor is mostly raspberry, some pineapple, and a hint of vanilla, moderately tart, slightly sweet. Thick and smooth mouthfeel with light carbonation. Overall excellent, but not the best variant of this I've had.

16 oz can, no date, into Crane snifter.
$4.99 at Hy-Vee.

Pours a very thick burgundy pink color with a raspberry pink head of 2 fingers. Leaves slight skirted lacing in the form of sediment. Has a bunch of sediment in the body too, likely from the fruit, definitely not filtered in any way. Just a little ugly but probably appropriate. I have a feeling I'm going to have a fruit mustache from this one.

Aroma gives me a lot of fresh pineapple, followed by raspberry, then guava, banana, and vanilla. Semi-tropical. A bit of Dole Whip action. Smelling tasty.

Flavor is raspberry, pineapple, vanilla, and banana. It's delicious. It's like a milkshake. Not overdone on the sweetness, seems they found their balance. Slight tartness, no sourness. One could probably disqualify this as a sour ale, because there is no sourness to it. It is all fruit. Which is okay by me, but it is definitely more of a wild ale. It's got dat thang.

Feel is really thick, probably the thickest beer outside of a stout I've had. Pretty imperial. What I do not like is the slivers of fruit pith that stick to my palate. Completes the experience yes, but I've never been a fan of chunky beer. A bit of heat on the breath but mostly hidden at 8%.

Overall, yes, this is a pretty dang outstanding beer. Super tasty, I'm beginning to warm up to the Puff Tart series. 2 out of 2 are winners for me. I'll be a-comin' back.

Price paid : $4.99 / can
Would buy again : maybe this one, definitely the series though.
