Look: hazy strawberry. Pinkish head on the pour that settles to a film. Some messy, oily lacing.
Smell: nose is just huge strawberry jelly and peanut butter. I would definitely take a Bruery PB & J over this, but that’s a super heavy weight. For a welter weight, can’t imagine a more dialed in nose.
Taste: like the nose. For what this is, it’s damn dialed in.

16 oz can, no date.
Parish Brewery Stemmie.

Flavor looks like a wildberry smoothie. Purple-ish, sort of reddish, with a fingernail of light pink head. No lace.

Aroma is very indicative of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Definitely getting that Smuckers Strawberry Jam note, with some sticky peanut butter and bread crusts. From the glass I get some airy-ness that reminds me of my teenage years in the western prairie of South Dakota - wheat and hay. They weren't going for this obviously, but the peanut butter and jelly thing...definitely on point. Well-f'n-done.

Flavor is a bit more sour than expected, but has explosive flavor. Loads and loads of sweet strawberry, almost too sweet, with hints of peanut butter crackers tailing. With further sips the sweetness builds and it is a bit over the top. This is a "first-sip-eye-popping" experience, "further-sips-too-sweet" type of thing.

Feel is smooth, slick, dare I say oily, with some pleasant burning acidity, but no alcohol burn. Sticky and clinging starchy finish.

Overall, first off I'd like to say that nowadays 6.5% is not necessarily "imperial". This is still a pretty good sour though, but as with most of their sours, you must wait a bit and sip again to not overload your palate or stomach with added sugars. It definitely is too sweet, but there's a technique to make it a good beer. And that's patience. It's a sipper for this reason. Enjoy this over a half hour or so with a sip every 3 minutes. Not bad. I almost wanted to say I'd buy a 4 pack but the sweetness got to me. The strawberries though, absolutely bonkers. There is no shortage of flavor in this beer.

A cute treat, a bit unbalanced. Have had better attempts by other breweries. It is worth your attention, at least once.

Brewing Projekt Ooey Gooey PBJ Sour, 6.59% ABV. Pours thick and opaque red with a ring of bubbles, and puree residue. Nose is strong strawberry jam and some peanut. Taste follows, with the strawberry mostly hiding the peanut, quite sweet, slightly tart. Outstanding thick and smooth mouthfeel, overall world-class. This doesn't say PB&J to me, but it's still real good. It may just be me, others may say it's got a lot of nuts.

Pours a thick dark strawberry color with a pear berry head. Smell is fresh strawberries and peanut butter cream. Taste is as advertised it a strawberry PBJ in a ca, some vanilla in the finish. Mout feel is fresh fruit with smooth peanut butter in the finish. Outstanding.
