Puff Tart XL: Mango, Passion Fruit, Plum
The Brewing Projekt
Kettle Sour
Date: Unknown.
I am a sucker for an adult smoothie; I mean beer. After I opened the can, fragrant fruit aromas emitted. Poured into a tulip glass around 40 degrees. A light carrot orange head with no retention was created. Fruit particles on the glass are what remain from the head. The color is akin to uncooked salmon but darker. The appearance is average for this style.
Mangos and passion fruit are the dominant aromas. Nosing further in the glass, I detect sugar, marshmallows, stone fruit, bread, and sour lemons.
Passion fruit dominates the palate, followed by mangos and then marshmallows. I think the plum flavors kind of get lost in all the sugar. I am not able to get any sourness. The alcohol is well hidden and tastes like a fruit drink with marshmallows.
The mouthfeel is chewy and sugary. The body is heavy, has a low carbonation, and lasting finish.
The flavors are great, but the sugar content is high. I felt, at times, I was sipping syrup and not beer. Nonetheless, the beer is what is advertised. I would have loved to see more sourness to balance it out.

Pours thick, hazy passion fruit color with nice carbonation and a small head. Aroma is fully plum and mango. Taste is a pleasant mango, passionfruit and plum balanced combination. This profile lingers and follows the tasting. A very nicely balanced and most satisfying brew!
