I picked this one up on a whim while I was in Cleveland and didn’t even realize it was a non-fruited Berliner Weisse. This is somehow my second one of these in less than a week and I’m all about it. I somehow doubt it’ll live up to the one I had from OEC the other day, but who knows, it could surprise me
Pours a lightly cloudy yellow gold with a finger of white head that quickly fades to a thin ring and leaves no lacing
The nose is nice here, but there’s a bit too much sweetness to it. I’m picking up on aromas of lemon juice, pear skin, bready malt, sweet honey, earthy wheat, orange juice, and apple cider
The sweeter notes take over a bit more in taste unfortunately, but it’s still fine. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting apple cider, lemon juice, biscuity malt, earthy wheat, pear skin, light black pepper, and orange juice. The swallow brings notes of earthy wheat, apple skin, sweet honey, lemon zest, orange juice, pear skin, and biscuity malt
A light medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes mostly dry despite the sweetness
This one isn’t great in taste, but it’s passable and the drinkability helps to prop things up. Pretty decent overall
