This has that melanoids flavor and impression that is hard to find....just a rich maltiness while not straying anywhere close to cloying.....additional notes of plums, and blackberries. I don't say this often but this is a legit interpretation of the style from a US brewery.....it's not along the lines of the Gryator Doppel from New Glarus but this is be tter than most locally brewed I've had....recommended

Drinking the last one of my (4) 16oz cans
Taste is Caramel, toasted bread, Floral. It had a hint of honey earlier but now with age it's more of a floral note. You still get a micro hint of honey if it's warmer.
Smooth and malty, rather sweet.
Decent body. not thin, plenty of ABV that is well hidden
