Brewing Projekt Hostile Hybrid BBA Brown, 6.95% ABV. Pours midnight brown with a 2.57 finger light-tan head that left good lacing. Nose is brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla, real nice. Taste follows, malty and sweet, faintly bitter. Decent mouthfeel, overall excellent. Nose is much better than the taste.

Pours a dark deep brown with a small long lasting head. The aroma is big with vanilla notes. The flavor is sweet creme, lots of vanilla. Good feel. Overall a big vanilla brown ale.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a medium brown color with a one finger head of tan colored foam. The head has a good level of retention, fading slowly over time and leaving a good deal of streaky lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is heavy of a sweet brown sugar and toffee aroma mixed with a strong showing of milk chocolate and a creamy latte smell. Mixed with these aromas comes notes of cinnamon and vanilla as well as some notes of a light nuttiness and raisin bread. Rounding it all out is a touch of wood and oak, as well as a hint of cherry.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweet brown sugar and brown bread flavor that has a bit of cinnamon and raisin sweetness mixed within. Flavors of cinnamon and vanilla are there as well, offering a nice subtle background flavor throughout the taste profile. As the taste advances forward the sweet that was present upfront fades a tad, all while some of light oaky and woody flavors join in. While the sweet upfront fades, it later resurges with more brown sugar, some toffee, and a bit of semisweet chocolate. A touch of a bourbon like taste arrives at the very end, melding well with the woody flavors rather well and leaving one with a sweet, and lightly boozed, brown ale flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is medium in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is moderate in nature. A little thicker body would have been better for the dark and sweet flavors of the brew, but overall the feel was still decent.
Overall – Slightly sweeter, but still well balanced and drinkable due to the nice mix of spice, wood, and roastiness. Overall, a fun brew to try.
