Poured from a can this beer pours pitch black. No light comes through when held up to a light. It almost looked like a nitro pour when I poured it. The head and the beer were mixing well. I had to stop pouring half way through the can to let the 4 finger brown head dissipate some before pouring the rest. There's decent retention, and great lacing on the glass. It took 3 tries to get the can into my glass.
The aroma of this beer is somewhat creamy smelling. I do get a faint hint of coffee in the aroma, as well as some chocolate.
I am going to have a hard time putting all I'm getting in the flavor into words. I do get coffee, and chocolate. I get a creamy flavor up front. I get a pie like flavor in this beer, like a banana cream pie like flavor, from the cream used. I think I get a cherry flavor in here that hits right away. This beer is sweet and it's close to the edge where I do not like to go with sweetness. After sitting on it a minute, without a sip, I get a German chocolate cake flavor, that I remember from my childhood.
Thick creamy body. Full. Smooth, and no burn from the alcohol.
Very interesting and tasty beer. I think one in a day is enough though.

Appearance: Pours a completely dark, completely black color with a strong and thick tan head. SRM of 23-24. (4.25)

Aroma: Strong aromas of rich chocolate, vanilla, glace cherry, cream off the end.

Flavor: Strong and rich flavors of rich chocolate, vanilla, glace cherry, cherry chapstick, root beer float, cream, with more glace cherry and vanilla off the end. Sweet and malty.

Feel: Heavier-bodied, Strong and smooth carbonation. Soft, smooth, malty.

Overall: This one was alright. Rich chocolate but quickly overpowered by the vanilla and glace cherry flavor. Maybe the glace cherry I'm getting is the Bavarian creme. Rich, malty, and sweet. Could use a little bitterness to balance or the sweetness tamed a bit. A bit of artificial with the flavor as well as the "cherry chapstick" or "vanilla Bavarian creme" flavor just doesn't seem natural. Okay, but too heavy and sweet. Wouldn't drink more than one of these. (Rating: 3.78)

A little on the sweet side. The Bavarian cream flavor is the focal point. Probably wouldn't drink more than one in a sitting.
