Chomp Chomp Mango And Blackberry Cheesecake

Pours an opaque, dark purple coloration with no head. Smells of doughy malt, blackberry and mango, with lighter cream cheese and vanilla also coming through. Taste is a great balance of doughy malt and vibrant, sweet and acidic blackberry and mango notes, as well as lighter cream cheese, vanilla and crackers also coming through. Finishes with a medium sweetness and tartness, as well as some blackberry, mango and cream cheese lingering in the aftertaste. Thick mouthfeel with a medium body and low carbonation.

I do rather enjoy a well-made Pastry Sour and this certainly fits the bill. While it's just a tad too sweet for my personal taste, there's enough tart acidity here to balance that out just about nicely enough. The fruity notes are quite natural and vibrant here, with the cream cheese powder and vanilla really giving this that certain cheesecake character. Graham Crackers mean nothing to me, but I guess there is a certain crackery, biscuity accent to this as well, actually. While the mouthfeel is not quite a chewy as for a Smoothie Sour, it's still rather thick and full as well.

 

 

Look: creamy purple. Slight head on the pour that disappears quickly.
Smell: mango and blackberry cheesecake as advertised, cream cheese, graham cracker included. Wow.
Taste: like the nose. They nailed it again.

 

This one is much more balanced and not a complete melted crayon mess. Not a ton of blackberry again (problem I had with blackberry chomp chomp) but the mango shows through pretty well still. Much better
