Tasted fresh during their anniversary event was higher-rated than the bottles I saved and this rating reflects bottles.
Pours dark copper, no head, just a white ring of bubbles. Smells of vanilla, marshmallow, and angel-food cake. This was quite tasty, fresh and on tap back in 2022, but age has made this a bit harsh. It's almost as if the 2.5 years this has been fridged has amplified the 16.4% abv. Taste is some vanilla and rum notes, but very very boozy. Smelled very inviting and I was hopeful that the marshmallow and cake on the nose would flow through to the taste but really only a little vanilla and overwhelming booze (very hot). Mouthfeel is low carbonation, oily, almost a buttery feel. Finish is more booze. While I gave the 500ml bottle a shot, I ended up drain pouring probably three ounces. I do have another bottle fridged that anyone interested in trying can reach out and maybe a trade is in order.

Tawny brown body with a light brown head. Smells is sweet with dark fruits especially raisin, giant sugary toffee with boozy bourbon, maple and vanilla. Taste is so sweet and hot, need more time I think. Hot bourbon, and dark fruit forward but carmel malt, molasses, maple, all more sweet on sweet support. Heat thins out the body, malt felt more than barley. Too hot, too sweet, too bad

Pricy 500ML bottle from a brewery that I think should be better than it is. Maybe this is it. Let’s go see.
The pour is dark for the style, borderline brown with red highlights like Kathy from those Friends episodes…man she’s hot. This smells like toffee soaked in bourbon. I’d buy that bag o’ treats.
7th Anniversary Barleywine is like being kicked by a mule. Made of alcohol. That then shoves its tail made of alcohol down your throat. Good decision making is receding…I have a sudden urge to watch the Hallmark Channel. Booze is ascendant. Toffee. Booze. Bourbon. Brown sugar. Searing sweetness that runs all the way down to my toe hairs. Low carbonation. Glad I split this with my wife. 500ML would be hard to throat.
Great barrel presence but the balancing act of saccharine sweetness & woozy boozy leaves this less than top shelf. Pretty good beer.

A BA barleywine with no bullshit added. I did not think The Brewing Projekt had it in them. Problem with this is it is way too sweet. It has massive ABV so there is a ton of unfermented sugar in this thing as a result. It is thick, sweet, cloying, and boozy. Nice barrel character with notes of bourbon and vanilla. Texture is oily with low carbonation which suits this beer.

Pours a hazed dark iced tea color with a mocha head . Smell is toffee, caramel dark fruits and barrel. Taste nice with oak wood bourbon, some dates and fig . Mouth feel has a nice oak barrel start but then is boozy with the fruit gone , started out great ended just average, I would take a 4PK of Central Waters BA BW over this everyday, Good would not purchase again too boozy and thin on the finish.

Bottle. Caramel brown color. Little head.
Vanilla, brown sugar, toffee, caramel, bourbon, oak, plum, molasses, red apple skins. Warming booze, so much barrel here. Full bodied.
I’m very surprised with how well BP did with their first BA releases, let alone a BW. This is absolutely outstanding.
