this is a really solid example of the style, i had been waiting to pop this bottle for a little while and it finally was the time. super clear golden honey colored brew, rich looking without being heavy or dense, a nice shine to it, and a full inch of white head rests on top. it smells like belgian yeast first, esters of green banana, pear, clove, and white wine, with a subtle dried apricot and vanilla sweetness, immediately appealing and robust. no aromatics of alcohol interestingly enough for how strong it is. the flavor is killer too, a bit more simple on the malt side of things that i am used to in the style, a light caramelized complexion, with a crystalline sugar and honey thing happening, not overly sweet but sugary enough to stand out. the yeast is awesome, not overdone but flavorful for sure, more pear and banana, clove and white pepper spice, peach and grape, a smooth nectrous sweetness to finish. this is really clean for what it is, bright and lively in the feel, and with a very well hidden alcohol strength. its not overly floral or phenolic from the yeast, and it stands out to me in the style for overall quality. very well done beer, enjoyed by all of us, and nice with some grilled chicken!
