While this historic brewpub is no longer in existence, thanks to Barley's the name may live on. Word has it that Barley's will be brewing at least one Hoster's brew in the future (Gold Top). That is good news to local beer lovers as Hoster's put out a couple pretty impressive beers like Captivator Doppelbock and 90 Shilling Scottish Ale.
Unfortunately the service here was usually terrible, and it would not surprise me if that helped lead to Hoster's downfall.
Hoster's had great burgers which is all I usually ate. You could count on getting a decent seat even during busy times, and the atmosphere was very open and airy. A shame to see it go!
