Pours a quite dark orangey amber with adequate foam in the Brigand chalice. Aroma is pleasantly fruity with straw and leather. The mouthfeel is substantial with less carbonation than most beers. This tastes distinctly of Belgian yeasty with the pear flavor and the dry finish. There's a slight sweetness and some malty cereal taste. Overall this is quite sippable even as a watered-down sort of Dubbel. From the 16 oz can shipped by Half Time. Not dated.

I love this beer for it's relevance to Washington Irving, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" and Tarrytown itself. I'm not a big Pale Ale guy but this was fairly pleasant.

Pours amber with a short, fizzy white head. The aroma has notes of caramel, sulfur, and celery. The flavor starts with caramel malt and follows with celery and some herbal bitterness. It's medium bodied and well carbed.
