Served on tap in a 10 oz (295 ml) tulip glass at Alamo Drafthouse in Yonkers, NY.
A: Pours a relatively clear, dark copper color with raspberry red highlights, a no more than one finger, white head, no more than a rim, and essentially no lacing.
S: Tangy with aromas of honeysuckle, cheery/cherrywood, apple, red berries, caramel, and a little lactate.
T: Tart and dry. Flavors largely follow the nose. Surprisingly, almost a cumin bitterness and a bit of an aftertaste.
M: Medium bodied with low carbonation.
O: Really did not resemble any rauchbiers that I have had in the past. Seemed a lot more like a sour or Berliner Weiss. That said, drinkable and enjoyable.
