If Irish folklore and American pop culture got together and had a baby, I'm pretty sure it would be this beer. As 3rd Turn is the coziest little womb, this Irish Red Ale will grow into a cozy little pub session.
The Dragon Abides pours with the expected garnet red and sharing a bright depth of clarity. With the froth sitting promptly above, the toasty sweet scent of peanut brittle, brown sugar, bread crust and grain starch. Similarly in taste, the malt leads with those caramel, crust and bready flavors.
Growing in its toasty character, the beer's middle palate shows a slight lessening in sweetness and a tighter sense of dry toast, bread crust and light coffee. With a peppery hop offset of remaining sweetness, the beer's late taste is woodsy, coffee-like and peppery with grain tannins and peanut skins.
Medium bodied and malty-dry, The Dragon Abides finishes slightly bitter and mostly sweet with a medium length aftertaste of toasted woods, toasted bread and the nuttiness of pecan.
