Building a hoppy rocket ship from Comet and Magnum hops, 3rd Turn's New England-styled IPA is just out of this world.
Space Grass kicks off with a hazier-than-usual pour, wrapped around pale golden hues and tucked underneath a creamy white froth. As its radiant scent drifts about the nose, the aromas are rife with citrus, light tropics and green herb. A creamy sweet upstart in taste holds the richness of cereal, cream and angel food cake.
But this journey is all about those hops and with its bold taste of white grapefruit, under ripened orange and a pep of lime. Tropical in its sense of green papaya, light pineapple and passionfruit, the beer is virtually a fruit cocktail with a kiss of sherbet. Herbal in its finish, the beer trends grassy and botanical with green tea, lemongrass and a juniper-like spruciness.
Medium bodied and malty-dry, the beer's fuller and more plump malt character is rounded, supportive and creamy to balance the smooth hop bitterness for a fruity, spicy and refreshing finish with an afterglow of tropical fruit peels, hemp and spruce.
