Another light specialty beer, the coriander & orange has a spicy coriander tone with a subtle orange and ginger finish. A squeeze of orange helps to accentuate the orange flavor.

Got bored so I ordered Blue Cat's Coriander + Orange. The "+ orange" is the orange wedge that got served in my glass. I think the beer should just be called Corriander. I am reminded of man law about never putting fruit in a beer. Because this wiseman is a man I took the orange out for the review.
Appearance: Golden in color head is weak for it's style. Clear as day; small amounts of lacing but all the lacing is gone after a second. (3.0)
Smell: Smells like the orange they stuck in my beer. It's on my hands now too damn! Ignoring orange I smell some weak hops, and a little bit of that "hef weizen " smell. It's better than widmers and shock top. I'm not an expert on this style but this seems to me to be above average. (3.75)
Taste: Taste the carbonation. mmm!! (not) There is a spice that I'm digging here big time. Can't name it but good. (Hilariously and apparently the spice was later identified as Coriander; who knew?) (4.0)
Mouthfeel: Too carbonated. Lower it please! Very sparkly like drinking soda in my mouthfeel.
Drinkability: A highly drinkable hefeweisen. Thought in advance that I wasn't going to like it but I'm going to say that this is one of the better hefeweisens out there. (4.5)

I asked the brewer, who was present, what type of beer this was, assuming it to be a Belgian Witbier. However, he told me it was an American wheat. After trying though, I would consider this more of an American wheat/Wit hybrid. Largely due to the addition of coriander I believe.
This beer was served in a pint glass at the brew pub with a slice of orange. I refrained from adding the orange until after the basic review was done. It has a light golden color with a nice head that is well retained. The appearance isn't that cloudy for a wheat beer, but okay for many of the American wheats I've had in the past. The aroma is one of light wheat malt with coriander. The coriander is not overwhelming, but you can't ignore it by any means. It's a very appealing smell. Upon tasting, the wheat malt is noticeable with a slight hop bitterness initially and finishes fairly clean. The taste is very close to a Wit. It has a medium-light body with moderately low carbonation.
I think this is a great summer seasonal offering. ItÂ’s very tasty and refreshing. Overall, I think this is the best beer I've had here on this visit. I think it's very drinkable and an excellent session beer.
