Another classic beer, Blue Cat is a rich smooth Porter with a distinct smoky taste. A deep copper color, medium body and thick rich head help to round off a very fine beer.

Appearance: Dark brown, somewhat transparent, with not much head, but this beer leaves decent wispy lacing.
Smell: Simple, but pleasant: there's dry roasted grain here, with hints of fresh-brewed coffee.
Taste: Somewhat lighter/smoother in taste than I expected; there's semi-sweet roasted grains, backed with coffee and slightly burnt undertones. The finish is nice and dry.
Mouthfeel: A bit thinner than I expected, but still respectable.
Drinkability: Quite quaffable.
Conclusion: This porter doesn't really stand out in any specific way, but it's a solid, easy-drinking and nicely flavored brew; if I lived in the Quad Cities (and I wish I did, just for their brewpubs) I'd definitely have this beer fairly regularly.

Was served a nice dark black with a thin tan head.
Smelled of light cocoa and some blackened malts.
Taste was dominated by a nice burnt malt taste with some hints os smoke and chocolate, on the bitter side..
Mouthfeel was creamy but a bit on thin side.
Overall a solid easy drinking porter. Will have again, only wish it was a regular offering.
