Pours with the thickest creamy cap of foam I’ve seen in a long time. Intense roasty note, like a dark roast espresso. Sharp roast on the sip, with light bitterness. Tasty, but more like a hoppy porter.

On tap; poured into a pint glass.
Appearance - dark with just the slightest bit of brown hue noticeable against the light.
Smell - much more roasted coffee, malt forward nose than I prefer with this style.
Taste - follows the lead from the nose, though a hint of piney hops make an appearance.
Feel - medium body with a focus on malt profile as opposed to hops.
Overall - a decent offering, but this might as well be characterized as a stout or porter.
