More yeast forward than most interpretations of the style, Inner Eye Pale Ale features floral and citrusy hop aromas with tropical fruit esters from a unique strain of yeast.

Pours a very thin foam head. Keeps some lacing. Dark straw color. Smells a little hoppy and floral.
Taste is pretty good. Hoppy, floral, a little malty and bitter. Good choice of hops. Overall it's a unique tasting IPA like beer. I quite like it and could buy it again when given the chance.

Pours deep blond with a bit of haze. Citrus, leafy, herbal hops, strawberry, lavender in the nose. Cookie dough malts, saltine crackers mingle with grapefruit and floral hops in the taste. The mouthfeel is light bodied with creamy, textured carbonation. Light bitterness countered by doughy malts in the short finish.

A nice, restrained for a change, APA. Good hop profile with plenty of malt presence as well. Worth a try.

Got this one from the brewery in Toronto

From a 500ml bottle into a pint glass

APPEARANCE: Pours a 2+ finger, medium looking, creamy and fluffy white head with excellent retention. Hazy, almost cloudy amber yellow with low carbonation. Head slowly fades to a full, foamy wisp and clings to the glass. A half wisp remains until the end leaving decent lacing on the glass.

SMELL: Lots of tropical fruits. Pineapple, nectarines, peaches, mango and nots of lemon as well. Bold and fruity.

TASTE: Flavorful with caramel sweetness, melon and pineapple up front. Definitely different than the nose had lead on. Medium finish of sweet caramel malts, toffee as well, honeydew melon, cantaloupe, some lemon notes and some piney bitterness lingers on the palate.

PALATE: Medium-lighter body with medium carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down fine and finishes a bit mouth-coating for the style.

OVERALL: Solid stuff and enjoyable for sure, but it’s a bit of a strange one. The nose and flavor profiles don’t exactly match up, with the nose being more tropical in character and the flavor more melon and caramel forward. The feel is also stickier that most in the style. Very much enjoyed this but it’s definitely an oddball.

On draft at the Harbord House. Pours cloudy ild gold with an off white fluffy head that dissioates quite quickly. Aroma: Grassy citrusy aromatic hops predominate - an appealing mustiness. Flavour: substantial bittering in the body of the beer meets tropical fruit dominated by pineapple, some lemon rind. Quite heavy bodied.

Picked this bottle up on a recent trip to the brewery. First, the name. It's "The Inner Eye - Pale Ale", not Inner IPA. Is the "Eye" a play on IPA? Don't know. It might be, but this beer doesn't claim on the label to be an American IPA, let alone an IPA at all. Just a Pale Ale. And it's not an IPA. I don't know if some of the reviewers are IPA drinkers, but this beer could perhaps claim to be an English Pale Ale, but not an IPA. There's no hop aroma or flavour, so if it's trying to be an IPA, it's a miserable failure. But I'll give it the benefit of the doubt since the bottle simply says Pale Ale. Pours a clear golden with an active carbonation; cloudiness comes as the settled bottom of the bottle empties into the glass. It really tastes more like a lager than anything else. Malty, hints of mineral, floral, touch of banana, but as mentioned, really nothing in the way of hops. If you're looking for an IPA, stay away. If you want an expensive, clean tasting beer for a hot day from a local brewery, pick up one of these.

Bottle: Poured a hazy amber color ale with a sour large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of spicy minty hops notes with some nice floral notes. Taste is a mix of slightly spicy hops with minty and herbal hoppy notes with nice floral undertones. Body is pretty full with good carbonation. Nice IPA that seems to present a different hos profile that is seems in most IPA.
