Serving: Can
No date (Consumed: Mar-22)
A:
Pours a cloudy pale straw with a wisp of white, soda-like head. No retention; no lacing. (2.75)
S:
Pale malt aroma with some lemon zest, grass, chamomile, dirt. (3)
T:
Follows the nose with mainly malt, minerals and diacetyl underneath. (2.25)
M:
Fizzy, thin body and a slick, slightly astringent finish. (2.75)
O:
Not very good.
It pours cloudy and with an anemic head. The aroma is probably the best part but doesn't really pop. A hint of citrus and otherwise thin earthiness and diacetyl. Flavor is right there with it and so is the feel. I don't think it was spoiled or a bad can to the point where it was undrinkable, i just think they wanted to do too much or didn't have a specific direction they wanted to go in. I still drank it, but I wouldn't again. The label is kick ass though! (2)

the best of the hoppy beers i had from these guys, a clever new school juicy hazy thing, as on trend as you can be, jacked up with citra and el dorado, nothing new here, but it sure tastes good! i had a lot of pale and india pale types in ontario that had english flare, lots of the old colonial influence still on display perhaps, so it was nice to find something so modern here, electric yellow in color and hazier than it is heady. bursting with the el dorado in the nose, melon and pineapple, well in front of the more familiar citra, fresh as it gets, and with a cool tropical vibe, even banana and coconut suggestions from the el dorado, all completely appetizing and awesome. it tastes about as good as it smells, all juice very little teeth here, i wish these ever had a little more bitterness, but its a pale not an ipa as they call it, and i like it a lot as it is, it just doesnt finish as snappy as i like the style to. the intensity of the hops is awesome, a great expression of these two magic varietals. good starchy body to this too, a nice vehicle to carry and extend the hops. really tasty brew from these guys! this should do well for them, its what all the kids are after these days...
