Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout w/ Madagascar Vanilla Beans & Cocoa • 13.5% ABV
The monster of all monster stouts is back! The most revered brew we’ve ever created, Patrick Bateman is the imperial stout to end them all (just ask Jared Leto). A viscous and dark soul, this beer is rife with chocolate fudge & vanilla with the perfect roast to balance the finish. Swing on by after your 8:30 rez at Dorsia: we’ve got something on ice for you.

Drinking the 13.5% 2025 version.
Pours a solid black color. Smells strongly of vanilla extract and alcohol mixed with oak barrel and chocolate.
That describes the taste too. Very strong and potent. Thick and syrupy.
Holy cow, this will put hair on your chest. I've got plenty, so I had to pass the drink around.
Personally it's a little too hardcore for my tastes and thus the low score, but every now and again I'll drink something like this. Would I get this one again? Probably not, but at least I gave it a try.
Don't take my rating to heart, there are lots of people who would really like this one and I do these ratings for primarily myself anyways. Give it a try if it's available.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into a snifter. Date stamp is mostly illegible, but does say 23. So presume canned recently.
The beer pours a deep dark black color with no light passing through my glass. A minimal creamy tan head foams up about .5cm and is gone very quickly after the pour. no lattice on swirls but do find legs on this beer like a rich merlot.
Aroma is sweet and malt driven with chocolate and vanilla dominating the nose. Not overly candy like sweetness and I find that they complement each other nicely. No hop character and the ABV is pretty well hidden too.
First sip reveals a pretty thick body and sticky coating texture with fine and fairly gentle carbonation. Beer actually drinks pretty smooth, even though it does coat my palate on each sip.
Flavor is sweeter malt notes with a good hit of chocolate, sort of hot chocolate note, not baker's chocolate. This gives way to a hefty dose of vanilla and this sweet vanilla lingers long after each sip. Again, booze is hidden here and no hop character. This is a pretty straightforward imperial stout with vanilla dominance, but not being too much in my opinion.
glad to have tried this Canadian treat!

Right off the bat, this is an attractive beer. The dark, dark brown / black is as expected, but there was a lovely viscosity to this as it poured from the bottle. Thick and chewy don't normally come to mind on the pour, but they did this time. Head is a dense, long lasting caramel color that eventually receded to a perma-cap and ring.
Aroma is very rich and enticing, but very vanilla forward. I happen to really like vanilla, but a little more subtlety would have presumably allowed for additional aromas to present themselves. As it stands, they are hidden beneath the vanilla.
On the tongue, the vanilla is still batting leadoff, but barrel notes are clearly batting second with cocoa notes in the three hole. Together they form a potent top of the lineup. The barrel and a little alcohol help offset the sweetness of the vanilla in a way that I'm really enjoying. Nice, long finish that doesn't evolve much but that's ok, because what's there tastes great.
Feel is exactly what it seemed like it would be based on the pour. Full-bodied, thick and chewy, but oh so smooth.
Overall this is a wonderful beer, especially if you like vanilla.

The American Psycho beer. Except that there was nothing like this in his era.
Anyway, a clever name and presentation, but what's in the bottle?
Pours with a lovely, small caramel head that lingers for a bit. The nose is perfect - not too sweet from the vanilla, a real lovely balance. The feel is smooth and the taste never quite gets to overwhelming vanilla territory, which is nice. Yes, it's still a bit sweet, but other Ontario breweries don't come close to a balance like this. Very boozy aftertaste.
A great beer that needed just a slight toning down of the vanilla to be perfect. Too bad it isn't available anymore.
