The latest offering from our barrel room (and our line of classic cinema villains of yore) this imperial stout blend was aged between 12-26 months in first-use Buffalo Trace barrels and brewed with no adjuncts, letting the full flavour of the oak barrels shine. The resulting brew is full bodied and semi-sweet, balancing nicely with an abundance of roasted malts, notes of vanilla, caramel and chocolate and graced with a slight touch of heat from the bourbon barrels. Very low numbers on this one so don’t sleep on it! We are a big fans over here.

Maybe I should have had this for Halloween, not Thanksgiving. :-)
Pours black with caramel wannabe head that never develops. The nose is of figs and bourbon. The taste is the same, with some added dark chocolate perhaps. Silky feel. This is really close to how Collective Arts does its own BBA stout. Very, very close.
Not a bad creation of this style, but leaves something wanting. More balance, more refinement. Just like Collective Arts.
