Name: Paradise Lost - Bumbleberry
Brewery: Blood Brothers Brewing
Location: Toronto CN
Style: Kettle Fruited Sour
Date: 03/17/2022
The last beer I drank from this brewery was a stout, and it was fabulous. I am using a tulip glass and serving at 44 degrees. A pinkish one-fingered head with no retention. The quick dissipation left no lacing on the glass. A reddish hue for the color. The clarity is clear with some carbonation bubbles. The appearance is average for this style.
Nosing the glass, I smell raspberries, blackberries, lightly toasted malts, hints of floral, and a light fruity sweetness.
I taste blueberries, raspberries, lightly toasted malts, a subtle fruity sweetness, and lemon-like sourness.
The mouthfeel is puckering, finishing dry. The body is light and has medium carbonation.
The fruit is on display with this sourness. I think the balance in the beer is off-kilter a bit. The fruit lends to some of the sourness. Tasty beer to enjoy a football game.
