Brashly American pale ale with a crisp and explicit bitterness. The pine and citrus aroma of Cascade and Centennial hops enrich the earthy bitterness of Columbus creating a neo-classic biterness profile. Pale ale malt soothes the tongue into a grapefruity aftertaste.

Copenhagen 10/6 2022. 50 cl bottle from BulgarskMad, Åboulevarden, Kbh. N. Simple yellow label in Labietis’ usual design with the bearded fellow in the logo and a signature from the brewer.
Pours opaque hazy golden yellow with a big white head. Stable. Settles as 1,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor of Stone fruit mingling citric notes. Peach and apricot. A bit of white sugar. Sweet orange and lemon.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a light sweetness followed by a medium strong citric sourness. Aftertaste is a bit thin. Bitter and a bit sour. Lingers for a bit. Finish is dry.
Fresh and easy to drink. A bit thin in flavor.

Pours a cloudy, golden amber coloration with a small, fizzy head. Smells of doughy, biscuity malt and citrus hops, with notes of grapefruit and hints of herbal, earthy accents also coming through. Taste is a good balance of doughy, biscuity malt and fruity, resinous, slightly herbal and earthy hops, with notes of grapefruit and pine. Finishes with a light bitterness and some grapefruit and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
I was expecting an old-school, bitter and resinous Pale Ale from the label description here, but this one of the very few beers from Labietis that ended up disappointing me. I mean it's not that bad, just not what I expected and with an odd, sour tang in the aftertaste that may just be from the strong, zesty grapefruit notes present here, but almost feels like there is something slightly off with this one, overshadowing those bitter and resinous notes that I was hoping for.
