An effortlessly light porter. The thick shadow of roasted and caramel malts is enlightened up by the overall low final gravity and the crisp bitterness of Cascade hops. Meanwhile a juicy chocolate aftertaste is supported by the sturdy sweetness of rye malt and silkiness of oat malt.

Pours a deep, dark mahogany coloration with a reddish sheen when held up to the light and a medium, creamy head. Smells of roasted, grainy, caramel malt, chocolate, as well as hints of licorice, herbs and spice. Taste is a great balance of roasted, grainy, caramel malt and chocolate, with lighter licorice herbs and spice, with notes of black pepper, nutmeg and sage, as well as just a tiny hint of citrus coming through as well. Finishes with a light bitterness and some chocolate, licorice and spice lingering in tzhe aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This makes for a very enjoyable Baltic Porter with a great balance of malt and hops, lending some roasted, bitter, sweet and spicy notes to this that work together very well. They call this a "Multigrain Porter" and that combination of roasted, caramel, rye and oat malts together with the herbal, spicy, slightly citrussy hops really works out great here. Very nice body and mouthfeel for the ABV as well, just a great example of the style.
