Pours a neutral amber color with a light chill haze. Small initial head even with an aggressive pour. It settles quickly to rim bubbles and a partial film on the surface. Infrequent spots on the glass.

Sweet smells of toffee, malt, and honey. True to style, there's no discernible balancing hop bitterness.

Not as rich as many Bocks I've had but the sugary sweetness is very present. It is cut (slightly) by the higher carbonation level. The taste is malt sugar with some darker bread thrown in. There's a tinge of alcohol warmth in the swallow but it doesn't last. Overall, it's dryer than the smell suggests but there's still molasses and toffee on the tongue. I'm not sure what chestnuts taste like, but I didn't note any unusual flavors.
