I love the squirrel theme, and the owner gave us a fantastic tour of the back.
But the beers were pretty average. The stout was solid, and I love the idea that you can get a french pressed IPA with extra hops.
Most of the beers were undercarbonated and nothing exceptional. Hopefully over time they will get the recipes dialed in and a few stand out beers on the list.
The bar/restaurant area is big, but really outdated and no theme at all.
The owner and staff were incredibly nice and friendly and I will stop there again for sure. We didn't get any food, but the menu looked interesting, a lot of wild game type dishes.

3rd stop on the "Bro's NC Brewery Tour"...Visited with Bro, Bob Shields and Spanky the day before we rode the Dragon's Tail in Deal's Gap. This place totally lacked any atmosphere whatsoever. It's an old car dealership showroom and it looks just like that. Bunch of mismatched table (someone must of stolen from the lunchroom at an old-folk's home) with no décor on the walls. Some pretty crappy drawings of squirrels (they all looked like Mr. Hanky the Christmas Poo) were on the windows. The beers were ok, but I was shocked and disappointed about the Oktoberfest offering. It was cloudy and wheaty and aweful. The brewer tried to tell us that's the way the Germans traditionally made it...whatev! Stay way from the Squirrel...they have a lot of work to do.
