Cask at the Plume of Feathers. This is the rare bitter that actually tastes pretty bitter. It seemed a bit darker and heavier than other bitters as well. I liked it, but I don't think it was as well balanced as others of the style, personally.

Old school cask ale with a delicate taste and slight bitterness. Nice malts and a hint of citrus and pine. Soft body and light carbonation.

Pulled (Cask) into a pint glass at The Royal George in Euston, London.
Appearance - Reddish copper color. Great clarity. Thin tan head. Big stickage. A very handsome beer.
Smell - Mild toasty malt nose.
Taste - Carmel malt flavor. Toasty. A touch bitter (think Marmite). The hop finish is a combination of citrus and pine needles. Wonderful!
Mouth - Subtle carbonation. A bit slick.
Overall - English bitter/pale ale nirvana! This cask ale possessed the perfect combination of toasty malt and spicy hops. This ale was flavorful yet, like any good English cask ale, smooth and chugable. What a treat!
