Pours very dark brown, almost black but not quite. A beige head sits atop. Th3 smell is sweet with hints of vanilla and toffee. The taste is similar with vanilla notes and your usual brown ale malty goodness. No trace of almonds for me but that’s ok. Mouthfeel is smooth and velvetty

Very flavourful, but quite sweet. Treat this as a dessert beer, Big vanilla nose, almonds backing that up. Some chocolate there too, minimal roastiness.
Yeah, it's still being brewed occasionally.

Leather Interior looks worth the extra money (actually, as with all Redline beers, this one is very reasonably priced). But you'd think the brewery might charge extra for those ravishing, shimmering chestnut highlights, the extra durable head and lace, or the pristine clarity that endures despite the beer's relatively dark colour. It looks high-end.
I've never really understood the appeal of the "new car smell" (granted, it's better than a used car smell) but this aroma is definitely something I'm on board with. Toasty, malty, nutty and tastefully sweet - heck, I feel like cuddling up to the pint glass! Both our star ingredients (vanilla, almond) are plainly apparent but in reasonable proportion to the grain.
This tastes far too 'fresh' to believe it spent any time in barrels, but I could entertain the idea of oak chips playing some part in the process (or perhaps that's just a connection my brain makes with the vanilla). Regardless, this beer is more than mere 'ice cream toppings'; the maltiness is clean, robust and actually moderately rich given the style.
The added ingredients take nothing away, they only add. If you're a fan of brown ales you can still expect to find the same elegant, chewy, toasty, characteristically nutty-sweet maltiness, albeit a sliver nuttier and sweeter. Adding almond and vanilla to an already caramel-centric brew could be dangerous, but there's enough roasty chocolate to keep things in check.
When it comes to flavoured ales, Leather Interior is proof if you ever needed it that brown ales are just as good a base style as stouts or porters. Even if this doesn't achieve the same level of depth as something like, say, a Russian Imperial it offers a great malty core, balanced interplay between flavours, and even the impression of oak. And it's pretty frickin' delicious too!

Sent to me fresh by my buddy who knows the brewer. Nice roasty, nutty brown ale notes. A little less almond than expected. Mouthfeel was way to thin, in my opinion. Crushable, though.

Had this on tap at a bar downtown Toronto. Aroma was just like leather. Taste was the same, with a little smoke and vanilla. Literally like new car leather smell. Great carbonation and medium mouthfeel. Very drinkable at 5.4 ABV.
