Up River is a classic, aggressively hopped American pale ale, if that’s the direction you’re headed. This copper gem has a huge hop bouquet with floral, citrus and pine notes merging together in a steady stream of aromatic beauty. With just enough malt for balance, the hop flavors and aromas careen from resinous pine to grapefruit zest, finishing with clean, pleasant bitterness.

10/18/24 Had a draft at the Swamp House Grill with Aunt Cathy.
Beautiful deep golden color.
Grain corn. maltiness. Bread. Metallic.
Definitely an aggressively hopped American pale ale. Very dry finish, but very balanced with the malt.

Very nice surprise on this FLA local...
Right out of the can it pours a dark golden ocher that is appealing to the eyes and has the added bonus of building a frothy head. The head is only short-lived, but there is lacing in what remains. The smell is light but clearly is representative of the style. Mouthfeel was full-bodied, light on carbonation, and got thicker as it warmed. As advertised on the can, the taste was full of citrus and hop-bitterness, not much malt to counterbalance. Overall, this was really a good beer, something to have on hand for the summer months, next year...

L:. Pours a burnished orange with a small white head and no lacing.
S:. Earthy, and woody, a touch dank, with some orange and other tropical fruit,
T:. Woody and fruity tropical hops, a medium bitterness, a touch of butterscotch ( is that a small bit of diacetyl, I can't tell for sure), now t the greatest pale ale but it gets the job done.
F:. Smooth carb, medium body.
O:. Nothing special but a serviceable pale ale.

Drinking right out of the can, on the beach so I can't review its appearance. First sip is a bit hoppy, then it mellows. Cold and refreshing, moderate carbonation. A good drinkable beer.

12 oz undated can from Florida.
Slightly hazy, light copper body with a good white head. Plenty of sticky lacing is left on the glass.
Clean, moderate hoppy aroma with citrus and pine notes
The flavor largely follows with mild bitterness and more sweetness up front than usual
Feel: Semi-dry finish. Medium-light body with medium carbonation.
