12oz can poured into a snifter.

Amber color with a small off white head that quickly disappeared. Small traces of lacing.

Slight smoke and peat. Very faint caramel apple skins on the nose and palate. The palate shows a bit better as the nose is somewhat weak.

Mouthfeel is medium-light. Lightly carbonated and easy drinking.

This is a nice Wee Heavy. Very drinkable, simple and satisfying. Recommended.

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from my local Giant Eagle store . It poured a clear dark amber with ecru head that did not leave much lace. The scent had dark sweet malt with boozy notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with dark malt base and subtle peat and earth highlights. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

Canned on 12/13/19. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a deep amber/auburn with ruby red hues; fluffy light khaki head that fades leaving decent retention and lacing. The aromas are on the mild side. Hints of cherries and caramel. Hints of chocolate and wood. Malts are there. The flavors basically follow the nose. More black cherries along with some dark fruits. More caramel and toffee along with some cocoa and chocolate. Malts do their thing. Finishes clean and dry. Alcohol is well hidden and goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is on the fuller side of medium-bodied with active carbonation. It's sharp, spritzy, crisp, slightly fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a solid Scotch Ale. It's a very clean and even refreshing brew. It might not be flashy for the style, but it's not supposed to be. It's enjoyable stuff. Not bad at all. I like it.

Jackboots & Kilt brewed by Royal Docks Brewing Company, with an ABV of of 8.40% This Scorch Ale pours out of a 12,oz can into a pint beer glass. The color is a nice deep brown color with an nice light brown head. There is also a nice amount of lacing to this brew, it sticks to the side of the glass well. The smell is Rich with roasted goodness, mixed with grains and malts. There is also a nice sweetness in the smell of this brew as well. So far Jackboots & Kilt is a. Nice inviting brew. Now for the taste, it is Bold with flavors. You first pick roasted goodness mixed with grains and malts. It is really hard to pick up on the 8.40% ABV inn this brew. This new just goes down smooth. This new would go nice with dinner or food. There is nothing overpowering about this brew, it has a super nice balance to it The body of Jackboots & Kilt is a solid medium. The mouth feel of Jackboots & Kilt is Bold, Rich, Roasted clean, smooth and Refreshing. Overall I am going to give Jackboots & Kilt a soild 4 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again givin the opportunity to.

Jackboots & Kilt by Royal Docks Brewing Company. Poured from the can into a pint glass, the brew's got a three finger thick light tan head, with lateral lacing & a deep walnut brown body.

Smells like sweeter caramelized malts with not much boozy scotch notes; which is nice.

Tastes pretty much like the aroma implies. The flavor is sweeter without BEING sweet, if that makes any sense at all. Little to no booze warmth.

Medium mouthfeel with mild carbonation.

I'll choose to award Jackboots & Kilt by Royal Docks Brewing Company with an overall 4.25
