Pumpkinslayer is a big, rich blonde ale with the flavors of locally produced malts and carefully roasted coffee, delicately balanced with the vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove aromas that have come to define autumn in Northeast Ohio. It’s a Pumpkin Spice Latte slayed into a beer. Nothing basic about that.

From the 16 oz can in a snifter via the brewery. This fridge lurker pours a chill
hazed deep golden with a moderate head of white foam that settles to a thick ring, thin
layer, and sports some light lacing. Nose of pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, caramel, and
coffee. Flavors expand on the nose with caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin, coffee,
subtle cream, and mellow coffee. Mouth feel is medium, medium light carbonation,
smooth, and finishing subtly dry and pumpkin spiced.
Overall, nice balance and well put together!
Cheers

16 ounce can, canned on 08.20.24, thanks to Brutaltruth for this one! Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a mostly clear dark gold color with not quite an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent. The brew smells like coffee, pumpkin spices and some bready malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, with coffee, nutmeg, cinnamon, bready malt and vanilla flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought it was a decent overall brew, worth trying especially if you like pumpkin ales!

L: Mostly yellow with a splash of orange. Smooth and silky like a strong blonde ale. The carbonation isn't particularly exuberant.
S: Lots of spice. Pumpkin pie from a distance, coffee closer in. The coffee has a very robust aroma.
T: The initial bitter note is bold coffee, not black, but bold. It tastes fresh ground seriously. As far as the pumpkin goes, I don't think they used actual gourd. It's spiced sure, cinnamon perhaps, a mildly sticky residual reminiscent of caramel. But it's more like pumpkin pie crust than filling, overall.
F: It's very drinkable and hits hard.
O: Give the can a swirl before pouring, don't shake it, be gentle, but do wiggle it all about.

Canned on 9/11/20. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours golden with a subtle haze; small off-white head that fades leaving nice retention and lacing. The aromas are coffee forward. The pumpkin spices blend really well with the coffee. Malts are there. The flavors basically follow the nose. More coffee leading the way. More spices blending well with the coffee. Some cinnamon along with some spruce tips. Subtle hints of caramel. Mild bitterness. It's not that sweet. Malts do their thing. Alcohol is well hidden. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy and smooth.
This is a pretty solid pumpkin ale. It definitely has a "pumpkin spice latte" vibe going on. It's enjoyable stuff. I like it.
