Smiley Face Cookie brewed by
Royal Docks Brewing Company. This brew is based of Fishers Foods Famous Smiley Cookie. If you are from the Canton Ohio area You know what I am talking about. Now back to the brew, the ABV of 6.60% This American Stout Pours out of a 16oz aluminum can into a pint beer glass. Now the can lable this as a "White Stout" so that is probably why this stout pours out a copper/deep amber color rather than a deep coffee brown. Kinda puts you in the mind set of Dundee Honey Brown Ale. Not saying that is a bad thing. The is also a nice thick white head an lots of lacing. It does stick to the glass well. The smell is rich with mild roasted malts, hops an a slight sweetness. So far Smiley Face Cookie is a nice inviting brew. Now for the taste, it is bold with flavors. It is amazing how it does taste like the famous cookie from Fishers Foods. Lots of sweetness wrapped around mild roasted goodness. There is nothing overpowering about this brew, it has a super nice balanced to it. It is really hard to pick up on the 6.60% ABV in this brew, it is just that smooth. This brew would go nice on a cool day or a nice after dinner drink. The mouthfeel is Bold, Roasted, Sweet, Smooth, Clean, and Refreshing. Overall I am going to give Smiley Face Cookie a 4.25 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again given the opportunity too.
