L- Pitch black in the glass. Pours with 2mm mid tan micro-bubble head.
S- Toasty, hints of log fire-place ashes...
T- Deeply roasty-toasty, log-ashes, vague whisps of smoke that become bolder. I get a 'puddingy' side to this, but perhaps it's not slamming-clear to my palate (no bad thing!). I see from the ingredients it contains cocoa and orange peel = fair enough, that must be what I'm tasting ; Seriously though, I sense them but they aren't screaming at me and that's a positive. As I have my 5th-6th sip they blend in quite well to the whole, but taken as a whole it's and easy-drinking after dinner beer.
F- Deep, rich, pungent. One for slow-sipping in colder months.
O- It's a big meaty cocoa-heavy stout. If there is orange here I don't specifically notice it but that's fine, I like it how it is.
330ml can BB: 13-Nov-21. Bought from TremblingMadness/York for home-delv to London
