A wild ale, refermented with raspberries, black currants and red wine grapes. Juicy raspberry notes accompanied by the more earthy and distinctive flavour of black currants. The addition of the grapes gives the beer some spicy and cherry-like notes combined with delicate barrel flavours from burgundy red wine barrels. It’s fruity, yet complex, dry and balanced in sourness.

A 750ml corked and capped bottle, with a best before date of 26th September 2028 (10 years). Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.

Appearance: A slightly hazy deep red colour with a one finger white head that dissipated quickly but settled to a thin cap, while leaving some lacing.

Aroma: Mixed red berries, raspberry, slightly jammy, with black currant and oak notes.

Taste: Tart, sour, raspberry, blackberry, black currant, lightly vinous red wine, and faint oak.

Mouthfeel: Medium to light bodied, with soft to moderate carbonation.

Overall: Enjoyable and easy to drink with good fruitiness. Surprised there wasn’t more funk.

750 ml bottle at share, courtesy of Rich. Rose, ruby colored pour, light wispy head. Raspberries dominate the aroma and taste, requisite sour palate, fruity, light wine notes.
