The original price was $35, but I think the store was trying to clear inventory, so it was priced at $7. T.H.T date is 10/09/2026 (10 jaar), which I am guessing means it was bottled 10/09/2016, and consumed on 07/18/2024. I don't think I have ever had sea buckthorn in a beer or otherwise. When cracked, I noted black specks on the cap, which could be mold (a little concerning).
A&S: Muddy orange-colored beer with lively carbonation bubbles. The head is white and disappears very quickly and leaves no lacing. The aroma is fantastic. I am getting sea salt, roses, peat, tart cherries, faint hints of whiskey, and barnyard funk.
T&M: Upfront tart cherries (again), green apples, slight woody tones. Not much to note as far as whiskey character in the taste. Pretty acidic and sour. Mostly just oxidized tones in the backend, cardboard, band-aids, and leather. The mouthfeel is light and a touch on the watery side with a zing of carbonation.
Overall: I could see this being pretty good if it had not started to oxidize. If a beer has completely gone, I won't give it a rating, this beer is mostly still there, so I feel pretty confident I could give it a score without factoring in the oxidation. I also wanted to post this review in case you see this in stores and are thinking of making the purchase. I wouldn't, it is not likely in good condition still.

750 ml green bottle, from Mikkeller Bottle Shop, Aarhus. ABV is 5%. Golden colour, only sightly hazy. Thin white head of poor retention. Weird but interesting aroma: farmhouse, crushed sea buckthorn berries with a hint of peated whisky. Very sour flavour, lemons and said berries, only a hint of whisky. Not worth the stiff price.
