On tap at New York Beer Project in Victor, NY.
This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells super ashy and super roasty, with some grape skin, tobacco, dark chocolate, and oak.
This is not very good at all, unfortunately. It's just so bitter, ashy, almost like ground up cigarettes. The barrel doesn't really add any sweetness, as it could have done, given it's sherry. The bitter oak character just continues to build up that unpleasant dryness. The base stout is also quite thin, which doesn't help.
This is thin, dry, and not really drinkable at all. 10 ounces of this was about 9 ounces too much.
This was a big miss. There just weren't any enjoyable aspects to this beer.
