On tap at New York Beer Project in Victor, NY.
This one pours a dark-ish golden brown color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells weirdly sweet and nutty, like fake hazelnut creamer or something – completely out of place for the style.
Something went awry, as a very fake nuttiness is here – walnut, peanut, something like that? It can’t be intended, and it catapults this instantly to a status of way too sweet. The rich complex dark maltiness of a great dunkel just is not here.
This is kind of slick, slightly syrupy, and just not very drinkable.
This is a complete mess – it’s not good at all.
