This was stop #10 on a 6-day pub crawl that would take my wife and me to the Brewers Guild UP Beer Fest and back. We visited here last year on this beer fest trip and didn't think much of their beers, so no review was done. But there is a new brewer in the picture who prefers to brew using the name Pictured Rocks Brewing, and the beers are much different from a year ago. The vibe here is much like any lounge/restaurant except that the decorations are about fire-fighting as their theme. There is also a beer garden at the rear of the building but I neglected to look out there to see how inviting in might be.
We ordered a sampler flight of 5 beers (they were out of two IPAs and a pale ale) and wood oven-baked pizzas. Our scoring on the beers produced an overall grade of B- with the Spray Falls IPA and the Shipwrecked Scotch Ale being the notable ones. All were brewed very well to style. Besides the beers, this pub has liquor and wine, and sells macro beers and some imports/crafts in bottles. There was also a house-brewed root beer on the tap list.
The pizzas that we had were very tasty, and I think pizza is the only food option on Sundays, although there is a regular food menu too (we had some nice pub food last year). (Their website is out of date because it says they are closed on Sundays, so call ahead before trusting the info there.)
I'm glad they have improved on their beers, otherwise I wouldn't be writing this review and wouldn't be giving them a third chance. It's worth a stop to go here.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the place's attributes plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
