The appearance was a semi-milky to hazy amber color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a mild pace. Some stringy lace ran here and there, but super faint for the most part.
The aroma had a nice blend of sweet caramel covered biscuits with some toffee, fruity esters, smooth butter (not diacetyl), and some earthy hops (fuggles, perhaps?).
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side and pulling in that earthiness for a touch of balance. Mild aftertaste of the caramel, butter and biscuits.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. ABV seemed on par without any overly boozy heat which was nice to me. Carbonation felt nice and low as expected and wanted.
Overall, that's a pretty nice English styled old ale well worthy of having again. They did a damn good job on this one.
