Creating the best tasting, most unique and inventive beers will always be our top priority. All Birch’s Brewhouse beer is made in house on our 10 barrel system (1 barrel = 31 gallons). The only place you will be able to find our beer is at Birch’s on the Lake Brewhouse & Supperclub located at 1310 West Wayzata Blvd. We will never distribute our beer because we believe that fresh beer is best. Our motivation is not to grow as quickly as possible and make as much money as we can, we are motivated to make the best tasting beer that we can. Our beer will always remain extremely close to the source where the beer and draft lines can be monitored closely, and therefore will always be in peak condition when it hits your glass.
Our Brewmaster Brennan Greene is also one of our two owners and has spent the last decade learning everything there is to know about beer. In 2015 Brennan decided to return to his hometown of Long Lake/Orono Minnesota to open his own brewery where he can brew all his favorite recipes that he has picked up during his travels. Creating fun tasty beers has always been Brennan’s passion, just talk with him for a few minutes and you’ll see what we mean.

Casual and classy. Perched up on the shore of Long Lake with a large paved parking lot in front. Usually busy, reservations and walk-in. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable employees. Has a medium-small menu selection and the cuisine is top notch. They do have a snazzy full bar and their craft beers brewed on location are award-winning. You can fill growlers. Their beers are not sold anywhere outside of the premises. The interior is clean, modern and cool with well-thought lighting and beautiful views of the lake. Very comfy interior. The patio has moderately cheap patio furniture and can be very busy in nice weather. It's a unique and high quality supper club and is near the Luce Line trail. I highly recommend Birch's to all lovers of good things.

An on the lake supper club with lower level brew house. Good view of Long Lake on the patio. Fire pit outside with aromatic wood smoke. Larger parking lot, and select time valet parking.
As an Brew Club member, the benefits are a pint sample of all new brews (within three days of release), a monthly growler fill of one's choice, and discounts on brewmaster dinners (which are quite tasty). The Brew Club cost was $25, which included one growler, which is filled with the monthly fill.
Suburban, lake vibe at the bar, multiple monitors for viewing (local sports), and live music on weekends. Also can sit inside with lake view or outside on the patio. Rotating special dinner selections on Monday.
Menu changes with the seasons, but is both priced to the neighborhood and above average.
Service is attentive, keeping in mind that the limited staff serves multiple areas of the establishment.
Beer line is eight taps, with full service bar. Beer is always very fresh. Beer choices are geared to suit the neighborhood.
I enjoy my stops for new beer samples and for growler fills.

Cool patio on the lake and inside is relaxed but small around the bar. Beer is top notch. Attentive service. About 8 beers on tap plus cocktails. Food is spendy but quality

Vibe really depends on what you're looking for. Birch's has plenty of seating either indoors in a cool boathouse pub atmosphere or on the large deck overlooking the Lake.
Staff isn't fast, but only because it's busy and friendly as he'll.
Only 8 beers on tap, but the peanut butter porter, Boyden berry gose and IPA were all solid and memorable. They brew very small batches and don't distribute at all so it's always fresh.
Worth a stop if you're on the west of the Twin Cities or near Lake Minnetonka.

With a great view looking out over Long Lake, this seems about as Minnesota as it gets. Approximately 7 beers on tap across a good range of styles. Friendly staff, but not super knowledgeable -- offered samples of all their beers, which were well-crafted, across the board. They do both 8 and 16 oz pours, as well as flights. I opted for the IPAs, but the tastes of the Berliner and milk stout both seemed promising. Was there for lunch and it was quiet. Food in the brewpub is ok-- one step up from standard pub fare-- but wouldn't be a reason to go on its own. Given the limited options in the area, I bet it gets busy in the evening. A great addition to the west metro.

Birch's moved to a new location after remodeling the new building and adding a brew house. Big, beautiful building, which use to be Billy's Lighthouse and before that Hanson House, inside and out with a large deck overlooking the docks and lake. Stopped by at 8 pm on a Wednesday night thinking it would be mellow, oh how wrong I was. The parking lot was full and the place was packed. The upper floor is the supper club and the lower level the brewpub. Found a seat at the bar and quickly received service. Given samples of all the beer. The pilsner was my favorite and one of the best domestic pilsners I have had. All the beers were quality but they only had four of their own at the time. They have a fully stocked bar with spirits and wine as well as guest taps. Nice glassware and you will not see any shaker pint glasses here.
Ordered food with my first beer but the food never came. Told the bartender and she told me to please wait and she would get the kitchen to expedite another order and comp it for me. It came 5 minutes later. The food was good but very expensive but it was comp'd this time. The servers want to make sure you leave happy.
Nice happy hour from 3-6 except Fridays with some food items at 1/2 price and $3 pints.
