Hazy gold, slight head and lacing. Smell is funky and strong in brett presence, just the way I like in a Gose. Not sure if I’m catching any barrel, however. Taste is what I want: tart bordering on sour, slightly salty, lemony. Again, however, not sure where the barrel comes in, as I just don’t taste it. Medium bodied, dry finish, healthy carbonation. Don’t know why this rates so low. I thought it was an excellent version of the style.

Hazy golden color with minimal head. Aroma that was more wild than I expected. Some barnyard, white wine vinegar, and oak. The flavor is quite tart and mildly salty. Don't really detect anything that makes me recall the sea. Not getting much barrel either. But it is still a quality gose. Light body but a little weak on carbonation.

Look: Foamy head persists for a long while. Beer looks like a cross between pineapple juice and slightly dehydrated piss.
Smell: When I first opened the bottle, it smelled like I was at the beach and I cracked open a cold one with the boyz, but after I poured it out into a glass, it smelled like grapefruit and a hint seawater.
Taste: Sour, salty, and bitter. Kinda like grapefruit with zero sweetness? Has a strong salty after taste. Kinda tastes like I put a big pinch of malic acid on my tongue, and then drank a sip of slightly salty carbonated water. In a good way.
Overall: A good beer to try, but I don't see myself coming back to this beer very often. A decent sour ale

a gose made with seawater, not the first one i have seen but almost assuredly the best, this is really good beer, and another winner from these guys, who it took me forever to get into because of the prices, but i am fully on board now! not sure how much seawater they used, but it had to have an impact on mash chemistry i would think. there are some tannins in here but more from oak than grain for my palate, so im not sure the story of the seawater there, but the brine character of this is undeniable, more intense than many, loaded with earthy minerals and almost tangy saltiness. the sourness here is clean, middle of the road on acidity, and aiding the minerals and the salt and the oak, bringing all of that to the fore. the oak is great, a white wine note to it, and a rather robust taste to it, all the way through this, making it a little heavy in the right spots, a nice contrast to the clean oceanic elements and the lemony citrus of the lacto. some coriander here too i reckon, toasted and herbal at the same time, follows the intensity. complex in the sense it has some funk to it as well, and oak on gose is becoming something i really like, giving a little more depth to the style. these guys did a great job with this, and while i want to know more about the use of seawater in the process, i think the beer overall is exceptional, pungently flavorful yet quite drinkable. yum!

First pour – Very light yellow, nearly colorless, clear.
Aroma – 4 – Similar to an ocean breeze minus the fish – a bit of spice and vinegar.
