This was the last beer that I picked up at the Total Wine in Vero Beach, Florida late last year. Took a while to get to this but thankfully, it was worth the wait as it was nice first impression from 26 Degree.
I'd hope that an IPA from the Sunshine State would have hints of orange blossom honey and floral notes, and that was the case from the get go. Copper in hue, bubbly in appearance, and lively on the palate, this was what a good American IPA should be. Citrus pith, metallic and earthy hops, and smooth floral notes came in on the palate as this was quite easy to enjoy, while having just enough color and vibrancy to it to keep things interesting. A thick ring of sea foam suds lingered near the middle of my pint glass as the lack of an overt aroma was all that was missing here. Some copper and leather stuck around in the aftertaste with a mild burn that easily left me wanting more.
A bit of warming took hold as well given the amount of alcohol in this, although it was never a detraction. Canned on 10/16 of last year, this held up well and easily deserved another go-around. Next time I'm down that way, I'll look for this after my latest run on A1A. This beer was certainly deserving of it's moniker!
