Somethin' Else is not you usual West Coast slap in the face Pale Ale. I had this poured at the brewery tap room in Woodland California.

Look: Pours golden straw with a fluffy white head and good, style consistent carbonation.

Smell: The Hop nose is subtle for a West Coast Pale, but it grabs your attention and invites a sip.

Taste: A suitable amount of maltiness is infused with a sufficient hop character create a perfect balance in this expertly crafted Pale Ale.

Feel: The subdued (Compared to other West Coast and PNW commercial American Pale Ales) hop profile eliminates the "hop bite" and your mouth enjoys the smoothness of the beverage.

Overall: I found this Pale Ale to be finely crafted with no brewing issues, great flavor and mouth feel, sublime maltiness and comfortable hop character, thus the 5 rating. For me, this should represent the new standard for West Coast Pale Ales and thus serve to further differentiate between this style and the IPA.
