Aggressive pour yields about a finger of off-white foam of good density, solid ring around the surface line when you tilt back the glass. Fully pureed yellow liquid. The nose focused on white citrus, dank herbaceous matter and pine, something about it smells “skunked” which makes it hard to get to the fruit scents, peppery with some cracker malts in the background. Medium-bodied, on the sweet side, notes of honey, whipped cream, candied orange peel, pine. Here it’s a little easier to get at the pineapple, passion fruit, kiwi, peach fruit. While creamy on the whole, the carbonation brings a refreshing prickle to the finish. Not much else to say, I am open to the possibility the can was flawed in some manner. (No canning date)

Growler shared by JCWattsRugger, thanks for the hookup!
Slightly hazy light golden color with a thin but long lasting bubbly white head. Earthy grassy light pine and citrus with bits of sweet bread and light butterscotch.

On draught at the brewery. Served in a tulip glass. It pours a semi-opaque honey-apricot color with one finger of fluffy, milk-white head and a thin, creamy sheen of lacing. There's not a lot to the nose; mostly lemon peel, lime, faint pineapple, and light floral hops. The taste opens with lactose/vanilla, along with notes of lemon, grapefruit, and pineapple, but it's not as fruity as you'd expect from a New England IPA. The bill of Citra and Ekuanot hops adds nice flavor but only moderate bitterness. While all the anticipated tastes are present none are bold. This ale has a nice, creamy mouth feel with pleasing carbonation, and the 6.6% ABV easily allows for a second pour. Overall, Low Orbit is a good IPA but nothing really distinguishes it. I'd like to see more pineapple and more bite to the hops. It's a good base upon which to build.
