On draught at the brewery. Served in a snulip glass. It pours nearly black with dark mahogany hues and a creamy, khaki-colored head and lacing. It's an elegant pour. The nose is aromatic and includes roasted malt, freshly-brewed coffee, milk chocolate, leather, and tobacco smoke. There is lots of milk chocolate up front, along with coffee, hazelnut, and earthy peat. But the taste is surprisingly mellow. You can detect all of the flavors but none of them really pops. Considering its 9.3% ABV this stout is amazingly easy to drink. The carbonation level is low and its really creamy. It drinks like it's served on nitro even though it isn't.I had to be careful to pace myself. Overall, it's hard to imagine a more mellow, easy-drinking Imperial Stout. Enjoy it but be careful!
