On draught at the brewery. A hazy, orange pour with a fluffy, bright white cap and extensive, clinging lacing. On the nose there is tangerine, lemon, vanilla cream, and subtle floral hops. The taste opens with tart, bitter citrus: tangerine, lemon peel, and grapefruit rind. As the glass warms there is increasing vanilla cream sweetness. But it finishes with hoppy bitterness and pepper. It's not a subtle ale. The mouth feel is thick and creamy with moderate carbonation, and the 7.2% ABV gives it good substance. Overall, for a creamsicle IPA this is on the bitter side; the sweetness builds subtly and never dominates the tart citrus. Nicely done.
